these fractal paintings were created with fractal explorer & all are basically "pure"
fractals unless otherwise indicated. a "pure" fractal is basically defined as
"unadulterated" by tinkering, tweaking or other revisions in another art program
such as adobe. basically, no recoloring is "allowed." fractal explorer does come
with some basic filters (which i don't use) including a sharpening tool. sharpening is
usually useful after anti-aliasing, however i find the FE sharpening tool a little harsh
for my taste. therefore i use a small degree of unsharp mask in adobe, which i find
much more subtle. i suppose this is "legal" since FE does have its own tool :)
